Well, firstly, hi to all my readers. This is my blog about Augustus Caesar. It’s a bit like a scrapbook of different ways I’ve gone about answering the question; ‘Augustus – Hero or Villain?’
Augustus Caesar was a fascinating individual from the early days of the Roman Empire. He was the first true Emperor of Rome and was responsible for many political and social changes. His commissioning of propaganda, combined with idealistic views of the Roman Empire has created a highly romanticised and heroic view of him. This is mainly because Augustus, through his shrewd manipulation of power, fostered a heroic persona which overshadowed his controversial actions.
